How to Install Beta OS or Other Carrier OS On Blackberry With Desktop Manager for Mac

This has all been adapted from berrymanual.com’s video.
blackberry tour 150x150 How to Install Beta OS or Other Carrier OS On Blackberry With Desktop Manager for Mac1. Download the carrier’s OS and unpack it folder (if you can do this through mac) or install it on a windows PC and copy the files over (should be located in c –> program files –> common files –> research in motion)
2. Load up DM for mac with your Blackberry and reinstall the OS that it has currently loaded. Click Applications –> check for updates –> show other versions.
3. Make sure that you select to backup and restore all data and applications. This will take 30 – 75 minutes depending on your device and your computer.
4. Goto your home folder in the finder –> library –> application support –> blackberry desktop –> device applications –> the folder that has all letters and numbers like this (jjfdsanr32n4324324j). It will be completely random to you and will be different on different computers and for different blackberries.
5. Copy over all of the files from the previous install (the beta or other carrier’s OS) to this folder.
6. Go back to DM for mac. Repeat step 2. This should install the new OS instead of the same version, although it WILL SAY ITS INSTALLING THE SAME VERSION. The new files will be installed instead, resulting in a new OS.

Thanks BerryManual!!! Have you tried this?

The first step of reloading the original OS should create that folder… it did for me.
