I’m not going to lie. Iron Man 2 looks sickkkkkkk!

Normally, I am not a fan of sequels. I didn’t like Dark Knight. I really did not like Quantum of Solace. It’s not that they were bad movies. It’s just that the first movies in the series were awesome and hard to replicate. There’s also the “it” factor. Often, what makes movies work, is the magic amongst the cast and crew. You might not have the best actors, or the top director, but a lot of great movies are purely great just because things worked. Sequels disappoint frequently because they try to force things, instead of letting things happen naturally.

Iron Man 2, from the screen shots and trailers that I’ve seen thus far, looks better than I thought it would be. Yes trailers can be misleading. Yes Don Cheadle replaced Terrence Howard, just like Maggie Gylenhaal replaced Katy Homes in the Batman series. But this has an amazing cast, the CGI is not too over the top, and everything just seems to work. Besides trailers, I watched a 20 minute preview of the film that was recorded during Comic Con. Micky Rourke, Scarlett Johansen, Gwenyth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, and not to mention Robert Downey, JR., are amazing at what they do.

I know I’m probably getting my hopes up, but take a look for yourself and let us know what you think. Even if it’s awful, it can’t be any worse than GI Joe: Rise of Cobra or Fantastic Four 2…
