Lost Season 6: Questions and An Analysis

In approximately 27 hours, Lost will return for its sixth and final season. Are you ready to get LOST?

I know I am…..I’m excited to see what goes on. What happened when the bomb went off? Did the explosion make everything right or did it just delay the inevitable crash of Oceanic flight 815? Will all of the characters end up back on the island? Will we see Charlie, Claire, Ekko, Shannon, Boon, Juliet, Libby, and Anna-Lucia again? Will the series finale live up to all of the hype?

What do you think the ending will be? I’m foreshadowing a few possible endings. One, every character on the show is a split personality of Hurley, much like the John Cusack movie, “Identity.” That ending would clearly suck….The second ending is that everything that happened on the island took place in a dream of Hurley’s. Another is that all the characters are actually dead and this is actually hell, heaven, or limbo. So many possibilities….many of them disappointing….. I have a feeling this season, in all seriousness, that what will happen is that all of the characters, after the explosion, will be back on the plane, and will successfully land in Los Angeles. Throughout the whole season, we are going to see scenes that show all of the characters in LA, walking by each other, and having no idea who each other are. They might interact with each other, but either they all end up on the island somehow, or they all end up together in another way off of the island (Jack-Kate, Sawyer-Juliet, Claire-Charlie). This fits in with Lost’s reocurring theme regarding destiny. Another wild idea that I have is that the reason why Ben can’t kill Charles Widmore is because they are actually the same person, just in different places in time. Hmmmm….

What about Richard? How does he not age and how come he couldn’t tell that Locke was really someone else? What’s the deal with Jacob? Who is he? What lies beneath the shadow of the statue?

These are only a fraction of the questions out there? What do you want to find out in season 6 of Lost?

    Further discussion on your theories…
I think the writers have put to much time and effort in the show to just have it end poorly. Remember, they said they knew how the show would start and end before they wrote the full script for the pilot. The writers are too creative/intelligent/stubborn to have the show end where even a non-LOST viewer would be disappointed about the finale.

Hopefully, we’ll get several answers throughout the night and many more throughout the season. There are tons of questions left to be answered and some hopefully left up for us to argue over even after the series ends…(I am dreading that day)

To add one more thing.. I’m pretty sure that Ben cannot kill Widmore b/c they’re not on the island (or the Island isn’t done with Widmore yet). Remember, in S4′s “Meet Kevin johnson” Michael tried committing suicide multiple times, but couldn’t die b/c he could only die within the island’s radius (as the island needed him).

    Some questions…
why is Walt special and why didn’t he need to go back to the island again? (or Aaron?)
Was the MIB in Christian’s body also?
Who are Ilana, Bramm, and company – and what is Lapidus a “candidate” for?
    and many more…

One last thought… I really hope Faraday comes back… as an alive Faraday and not a reoccuring dead Faraday
