Well, a lot happened last night in Lost Season 6 Episode 5. If you weren’t watching last night, do not keep reading my review because there are **SPOILERS**. Keep reading to find out the new theories about Lost Season 6 Episode 5.
Last night, we were reintroduced to Claire, who had been gone for nearly a whole season if not more. For three years, she had lived in the wild alone. She claims she had been with her Dad, Christian, who had died before the show began, and her “friend” who turns out to be the Locke/Jacob nemesis/smoke monster entity. So, she really is infected, like the temple people say. She thinks they took her baby and will kill anyone who did that. Personally, I think the whole thing with Claire and her baby is overused by now. However, with the admixing of Jin in there, this should be interesting. Especially because she is infected, just like Sayeed will be soon…
But what are they exactly infected with? I think its the smoke monster. Whatever the entity of the smoke monster really is, it is somehow behind all of this. But how is this possible in the first place? Remember in Season 3 or 4 when Ben was able to summon it when Charles Whitmoores’ mercenaries invaded the village? How could he control it if it was its own being? And why would it listen to Ben? There are a lot of unanswered questions about this. How is “Locke” really the smoke monster? And we still don’t know who that guy that Jacob was talking to last season that said he would kill him somehow. Is he the smoke monster also?
And what was with that lighthouse? Why would Jacob want Jack to see through the glass into the alternate universe? I think Jacob wants Jack to be the one to save them. They really can get off the island and its up to Jack. He wanted Jack to experience it and begin to question whether or not that they would ever get their lives back. Remember, Juliette said, before she died, that it worked. It will be Jack’s duty to get them off the island and now he has been exposed to the fact that there is a life outside, hopefully.
As far as the temple people go, we didn’t really see too much of them this episode. But what is Hurley a candidate for? Taking over for Jacob? Running the island? Running the temple? And what’d the samurai guy say to him after Hurley told him to f off? I don’t know yet. Probably to take over for Jacob, since he is dead.
What did you think? Did I miss anything that happened? Jack and the samurai met in the alternate universe at Jack’s son’s school; interesting how they are all connected in that alternate universe somehow. What do you think?
