RIM this week announced that they will have some big news at the upcoming Mobile World Congress this Tuesday. What are they going to announce? What news will RIM reveal about their beloved line of Blackberry? I have a couple of ideas and a couple of rumors have been leaked. Keep reading to find out.
There is a rumor, reported by Blackberry Sync that RIM will be announcing a new BESX – Blackberry Enterprise Server Express – a free service for BIS users to have a mobile sync utility. This would be interesting although I am waiting to see what exactly it would do. I sync my Blackberry contacts and calendars via Google Sync, so this is not really that useful for me. However, we’ll see in a couple of days what more functionality they provide.
Some other possibilities are
- The announcement of several new devices including the Blackberry Dakota, Tour 2, and others
- The announcement of new apps, although this can go without saying
- Details on the new, official RIM Twitter application which is going to be released this year and was already leaked
- BIS 3.0 final details, although some of these too have been leaked
Anyone else have any idea what they might reveal? VZW and Skype have announced a joint conference, wonder what that could be out about. Let me know!
