Welcome to New York Mr. Cromartie, the newest Jet!!!!! Revis Island will join forces next season with Cromartie Cove, to form the Jets’ version of the Bermuda Triangle. The Jets will have the best pair of cornerbacks in the league. Balllllinnnnn……
Revis locked down the best receivers that the league had to offer last year, including Andre Johnson, Vincent Jackson, Chad Ochocinco, Randy Moss, and others. Add Cromartie to the corner mix now and the Jets will never get up another completion again.
You might ask yourself, “Wow, what did the Jets have to give up?” The best part is, all they gave up was a third round 2011 pick (that might turn into a 2nd rounder depending on how well the Jets and Cromartie perform). Also, Jets Nation said goodbye to Lito Shephard. Do you know what I say to that? Good riddance!
Yes Cromartie has had some problems on and off the field. Last year, in the playoffs, he let Shonn Greene blow by him to run a 53 yard touchdown play, winning the game for the Jets. Off the field, he’s had 5 paternity suits, and has 7 children from several different women according to ESPN. He also allegedly hit someone over the head with a champagne bottle at a bar. Yes, these are all big negatives.
But on the playing field, he still has so many upsides. Plus he only has 1 year left on his contract, so if it doesn’t work out, we’ll just say adios to him at the end of the season. But for now, I’m super stoked to call Antonio Cromartie a New York Jet. Look at his highlight reel below.
