Green Zone, released last week, is a fictional movie based upon historical facts. If you have not read the Sherwinator’s review, you should do so. A secret source, code named “Magellan,” exposed all of the Iraqi sites of WMD to the US government after confirming the existence of the program. Yet the American tropps, specifically Matt Damon, come up empty handed each time that they go out on an op. Why is this so? Why did this actually happen to us? Well, Green Zone is based on an element of truth in the invasion of Iraq that took place in 2003.
The Bush administration had been in contact with an Iraqi defector named “Curveball” who had presumably told them about the WMD programs and the locations of the secret weapons production facilities and other sites that were involved in the program. He was a source of unproven information who had been deemed unreliable and unconfirmed from the German intelligence agency. Basically, this was a CIA report that had been provided by Germany and then filed away in a desk somewhere to be revived when Bush came to power and said, “find me a reason to goto war with Iraq.”
He was never identified nor was he ever interrogated by the US. We simply blindly followed some unconfirmed, unverified report by the Germans that they had deemed to be falsified. The source, Curveball, was never found again or identified and this falsified report was flaunted around Washington as if it was the word of G-d. This is what took us to war.
Unfortunately, this has cost us thousands of American lives. Knowing this, would you support this war?

Why only mention the thousands of Ammericans who died in this war?
You’re right, but I guess I was just thinking about it from the movie’s point of view, from America. The war has cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis unfortunately and has destroyed their society and stability.
Great movie….but did we not send in British troops who have lost their lives also….not just Iraqis or Americans! I now understand why the rest of europe didnt want involved in this.
We all know it was a big mistake. This just shows one part of it.

This movie makes me so angry! The government is so crooked and selfish! And for what?! Money and oil? Irony: oil is killing us now! But the innocent have to pay! Fucked up world we live in! Enjoy it while it lasts.

i think that – although there might be unjustified reasons for starting that war (that remains to be proven) – the outcome is serving us all.
keep in mind that everybody has an agenda – including the movie maker.
There were those who were not corrupt that came to the Bush administration to explain the implications of their plan but they were all turned away by the various governmental figures who just did not want to hear that side of the story. You are right, however, about everyone’s agenda.

Everyone be prepared for world war 3 thanks to Israel and Iran, North Korea and South Korea. My dad told me when I was a kid (which i could of cared less then) that we always have to go to war to boost the enconomy! THis is so sick and with what is going on in the world and the population being more than ever in the history of time. Many will die. Hang on its going to be a bumpy ride in late July and early August. Look for the stock market to take a nose dive and many other natural disasters (as if we need another oil spill or tsunami) Earthquake will be inevitable in July 16? for LA. I am very intutive and I first cried about it now after meditating and connecting with GOD, I feel good and I trust that God will take us to another level (on the evolution scale) we need chaos in order for drastic change and we need to spiritually evolve. If you look at our society in general we can only ask when? People are getting nuttier and more narcisstic then ever, we reward bad behavior, we have sickened our society with precription drugs and bad food, we have sexed up even our kids which is so ridiculous, I am by far a prude and feel sex is sacred but we have cheapened that, thanks fellow women, we were suppose to evolve after the sixties, but all you porn stars and strippers have set us back include the quasi lesibans. (the chicks that are not really gay but want to turn guys on) Then we have everyone having kids who shouldn’t even on a pet rock, mix in with some serious child abusers and we have got millions of people in jail, on drugs and just screwed up. So where do you think we go from here? do the math.
I am a believer that certain wars in the past were needed, and i support our troops fully. This war however i never agreed with. I understand that Iraq was a third world country and needed help but to bring a war on a nation that was a wreck to begin with was not the right thing to do. I know that we were attacked on 9 11 and that was a very sad day for all of us americans, but it was only a small part of Iraq that wanted this attack to happen. If you watch any movie, the Iraqi soldiers were fighting for their country. Not because they hated america. Although now im sure they do hate us all. I want our troops to come home as much as all of us. this war was not needed. Our government could of done better

This war was not just greed, profiteering, and oil… it is also related to certain war mongerers in Israel… and their desire for control of the region… watch what is happening in Iran… It is Iraq war deja vu…We don’t need to fight others wars… we have enough of our own problems… w, cheney and other pro-Israeli forces within and outside our government need to be brought to justice…traitors who should rot in hell…

A big mistake? How do you know that? This movie portrayed the US as warmongering and totally unsympathetic to the suffering of the Iraqi people. Sorry, but I remember the video footage from 2003 when the Iraqi people were greeting US troops as liberators. The movie, while making wild eyed accusations against the Bush administration, fails to reveal any possible motive for the US launching a bogus war. If we did launch a bogus war the question I have is why did we do it? What did we hope to gain? Some have said GW Bush was giving Sadaam payback for his dad. But I ask, pay back for what? We defeated Iraq in 91 and got out. Even if revenge were a motive, revenge for what? Sadaam letting us whip his sorry butt out of Kuwait? This movie comes up short, but it doesn’t surprise me. Damon is an adamant Bush hater and, like the rest of that crowd, is wiling to believe any propaganda/conspiracy theory that comes down the pike. Such inconcsistency on the Left. On the one hand they regard Bush as an incompetent moron, on the other a military, diabolical mastermind that plunged the US into a Mid East war. Make up your minds.

You raise good questions. As a starting point I would recommend reading the “Protocols of the learned elders of Zion”. It’s basically a master plan for world domination that was stolen out of a Freemasonic lodge in France sometime in the 1800′s. It’s under 70 pages. After reading, if you can’t see how the plan has been implemented over the last hundred years then you are in willful denial of the facts. Don’t get caught up in the debate as to whether “Jews” wrote them or not. It doesn’t matter who wrote them, only who is carrying out the plan. Also, I would recommend watching “The Obama Deception”. You can find it on Youtube. It’s a good documentary produced by Alex Jones detailing what’s going on and the players involved. Jones has a daily show at infowars.com with excellent guest and articles that mainstream media doesn’t cover.
