Lost Season 6 Episode 6 Recap and Theories

Last week, we were given very little info in the trailer for this weeks episode of Lost. That led to many theories about what they were going to do this week. Before we get into any of the details, lets jump into my theories and recap of Lost Season 6 Episode 6.

This week, we see Sayid’s alternate universe, which apparently involves a brother of his that was married to the love of his life, Nadia. How did that happen? Where did he come from? And why did he still have that picture of Nadia? Does his brother exist in the regular universe? We don’t know.

And compound this with the ninja telling him he should be dead because he is not balanced. But what was with the baseball dropping? The ninja wanted to kill him the whole time. All of a sudden a baseball drops in during the fight. What does that signify? He was also holding it while he spoke to Sayid who asked him why Dogan was trying to have him killed. Maybe it reminded him of his son, the same son that he had in the alternate universe.

And then the change in heart over Sayid. Why would he do that? And how can the monster just appear to him as someone from his past? How is that possible? Although now that I think of it, he did appear to Claire as Christian.

How did the monster/Locke get to the temple? I thought they were defending against him getting there. And why do they always call him “he” or “him”. They never refer to him as a name. We know he is Jacob’s friend from last season but that’s it and we do not have a name except for “the smoke monster” or “this man.” And there is no blood on the knife after the monster was stabbed. Think about that – can he not be killed?

One of the most intriguing questions is how are all of the characters related in the alternate universe. Like just now, Whitmore’s commando, Jin and Sayid were all involved in the same situation. Freaking weird.

I think a possibility is that Jacob and the smoke monster are just screwing with everyone. Note how Jacob promised Dogan something unobtainable and the smoke monster promised Sayid somehting unobtainable – to have their dead loved ones back. Maybe this is just a big game to them. That could explain the numbers that are assigned to each of the survivors.

And at the end Sayid killed Dogan and Lennin. He was really indoctrinated into the smoke monster’s evilness. You can see it in his and Claire’s eyes. They are almost pitch black. And all of the Locke monster’s followers? I guess we’ll find out…

Let me know what you think or if you have theories of your own!
