Well, if party planning is something you want help with then don’t look here. But if you’re looking for a drunken night of debauchery then you’ve found yourself the proper guide. First we’ll look at the shopping list side of things.
You’ll want:
Cheap Handle of Vodka X 4
Cheap Handle of Rum X 3
Cheap Handle of Gin X 2
Gallon of OJ X 2
Gallon of Cranberry Juice X 1
3 Liter Shoprite brand Cola, Creme Soda, Grape, etc. (an assortment) X 12
Bag of ICE (2-4 bags)
30 pack of cheap beer X 5
1 Liter of Grenadine Syrup
300 Party Cups (Red Solo Cups)
200 Shot Cups
The above shopping list is for about 60-100 guests that want to get schnockered (drunk), now if you plan on going bigger or smaller then adjust accordingly.
Next you need to place all of the liquor into the freezer and the beer into the fridge.
Then begins the decorating, if this is just a drunken bash then not much decorating needs to be done, but dim lighting and the nice strobe light adds much to the mood. You can also replace the regular bulbs with blacklights to give it that nice effect. Next comes the music, if you want people to dance then you need that nice deep club bass popping the whole night long. Don’t spend money or bother yourself with changing music constantly, just put on a nice playlist that has a wide variety of dance music. If you want the flexibility of a DJ without spending any money then ask around, everyone has an aspiring DJ friend that just loves to do it for the experience or the exposure, trust me, just ask around.
The same philosophy goes for bartending. However, here you won’t be able to just leave the alcohol out and trust people. You definitely have that friend that loves to regale people with his drink mixing skills, so let him shine and let yourself relax and have fun.
Finally you need the guests. If you already know who you want to come then you’re golden, but if you want this to be a broad invite then you need to keep relative track of the number of guests. Remember any facebook event for more than 100 people will only yield about a 30% commitment rating. Meaning, if you invite 200 people and 60 of them say they are definitely coming then only 20 will actually be showing. However, different groups of friends travel differently, so just keep asking and make sure you keep track of those random “plus ones”.
Well that’s all. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Most of my experience comes from throwing frat parties for the masses and a couple of shindigs at my house (mostly cheap get togethers).
