Blackberry OS 6.0 Webkit Browser Better than iPhone and Android

If you haven’t already seen the videos, the Webkit Browser for the new Blackberry OS 6.0 9800 slider has beaten the iPhone and Android in several tests of online smartphone internet browsing performance. This info was provided from a leaked video that Salomondrin put out on his website. But just how much better was it?

The Blackberry OS 6.0 running on the 9800 slider scored a 208 +1 bonus point on the HTML5 test. Comparatively, the iPhone 4 scored a 185 with 7 bonus points and the HTC Droid Incredible scored a 151 without bonus points.

This news, surprisingly shows that the new BB OS 6.0 is going to be faster and better than any of the existing broadband smartphones on the market so far. RIM is listening to the regular BIS customers who need a better browsing and multimedia experience. This could potentially put Blackberry back into the consumer market, despite the losses its taking to Android and iPhone. Now, all we need are some newer phones, better apps, centralized app purchases, games and some “cooler” functions and the Blackberry could come to dominate the market.

What do you think?
