Chris Paul, aka CP3, the point guard of the New Orleans Hornets, is demanding a trade. Or is he? The state of basketball is becoming a farce. Click below to read more about where Chris Paul might be heading next season.
Chris Paul is not a free agent. Chris Paul does not have a no-trade clause in his contract. Yet somehow, he believes he has the right to demand a trade, even though he has two years left on his contract. Not only does he think he has the right to force a trade, but he thinks he has all the say in where he is traded to? Is this guy smoking crack?
A buddy of mine went to Wake Forrest as an undergrad, and was on campus when CP3 was still attending the school. He was also there after Chris Paul was drafted by the Hornets. He informed me that one time, Mr. Paul came back to campus with a 7 series Bimmer, attempting to show off, and people started throwing things at his ride. Shows you what people who really know him think of him.
Anyways…..Paul allegedly told the Hornets’ brass that he only wants to be traded to one of three teams. Those teams are the Magic, Knicks, or Lakers. Basically, none of those teams have anything great to give up for Paul. The only way I could see them trading him to any of those teams is just basically so they can unload CP3′s salary. But why not unload his salary for some young, affordable talent. There was a rumor that Chris Paul was being sent to the Grizzlies. He did not like this one bit. But who cares?
This is ridiculous. This guy has a guaranteed contract. This is not the NFL. His team can’t just cut him and choose to not pay him. Paul needs to be a man and honor his contract. Enough is enough. The only way I would recommend that the Hornets’ trade away Paul is if it’s in the best interest of the team, aka, they could get some dirt cheap talent for him.
I’m tired of hearing reports that Chris Paul demanded a trade, and then two minutes later hearing reports saying that he outwardly denies this. Everyday it’s been back and forth. Enough is enough.
What are your thoughts on the Chris Paul situation?
