According to USA Today, Stephen Strasburg has been scratched from his start for precautionary reasons. Damn it. Click below to read more about the potential Stephen Strasburg injury.
Damn it. I turned on the television tonight at 7:30pm, expecting to see Stephen Straburg pitch against the Atlanta Braves. Every Strasburg game has been televised in my area (NJ), and I expected tonight to be no different. When I couldn’t find the game, I thought something might be up.
I turned to ESPN Gamecast and noticed that Straburg wasn’t pitching. Immediately, I did a Google search, only to come across a USA Today post stating that Strasburg has been scratched. Instantly, I thought Strasburg must be injured.
Allegedly, Stephen couldn’t “get loose” in his bullpen session. After speaking with Pudge and his GM, Strasburg was scratched. Mike Rizzo, Washington’s GM, stated that an MRI and X-Ray was to be scheduled as precautionary measures.
I would be severely disappointed if Strasburg is legitimately injured. This kid is the best thing to happen to baseball in a few years. He gives people a reason to watch the Nationals.
