Is Steve Jobs’ iPhone 4 Fix Acceptable?

Last week, Steve Jobs himself addressed concerned members of the media and general population regarding the “alleged” problems with the iPhone 4 and obtaining reception. Was Steve Jobs’ “solution” acceptable. Click below to find out.

Last Friday, at 10am Pacific Standard Time, Steve Jobs took the stage out in California. He finally admitted that Apple isn’t perfect and they make mistakes occasionally. This was the closest to an apology we all got. Throughout the whole press conference, Jobs seemed to sound condescending and defensive. I’m starting to really hate this guy. Cocky would be a major understatement when describing Jobs.

Jobs did not issue a recall, a recall that would fix the problem. According to sources, it would cost Apple roughly $1.5 billion to recall the iPhone 4. The other alternative fix, if you want to really call it a fix? Jobs is offering every new and existing iPhone 4 user a “bumper” for free. If you already bought a bumper, they’d refund your money. Jobs usually sells the bumpers for $29 a piece. They only cost Apple $1 to produce….

What exactly is a bumper? A piece of rubber that usually is used to prevent the phone from getting beat up. But now it’s being used to keep people from touching (directly) the bottom sides of the phone, which causes the iPhone 4 to lose signal strength.

How ridiculous is this? You buy a $199 phone and you can’t even make a call without having to get some retarded bumper? Apple said that they would re-evaluate the situation in late September.

What are your thoughts on these shenanigans?
