Robo Defense for Android – Review

Unfortunately, the Android system has not had as much game development as the iPhone/iOS system. However, there have been a few great games for Android. I bought Robo Defense last week on my Droid 2 and it is definitely a challenging but exciting game. Keep reading my review of Robo Defense if you are interested in playing it.

The point of the game is simple, just like any tower defense game. There are entrances to the maps where the soldiers come in and there are exits where they will leave. Your job is to blow everyone up that tries to pass through by placing down turrets, anti-air towers, mortars, rockets, slow beams, etc… By stopping them, you get points.

Some maps have more than one or two entry points, making it even more difficult. If your turret is in the direct path of a unit, it wil try to go around it usually in predetermined paths, such as always will go right. Whenever you add new turrets to their path, they alter their course. However, all the units that came in that line will take the same course, allowing you to place turrets strategically in their path.

The more points you get, you can spend them on upgrades on your character, such as “increased energy for all turrets” or “increased firing speed for all turrets” and they carry over throughout every match. You can increase or decrease the difficulty level and there is a random map generator which is kind of cool.

The only problem I have is that some of it is too hard. When you have little money and multiple entrances/exits to cover, even on level 0 (easiest) it can get tough. But it keeps you occupied for hours.

Have you played it? What do you think? Overall – great game, lots of replayability.
