The Event finally returns after a hiatus of more than three months. Titled, “And Then There Were More,” this episode marks the return of the show. Hopefully you didn’t forget as much as I did. Layla and Shawn reunite for the show to come back. What about Sofia and Thomas? What about the alien invasion? What will happen next? Watch my review and recapof the 2 hour return of The Event on 3/7/11 on NBC.
The 1st line of the decoded message – preparations are being made for your arrival. It looks like there is a plan for invasion at hand. but whose invasion? Obviously Thomas’s people. Not the rest of them.
Thomas has some kind of cylinder thing. They built some sort of array in the middle of Africa in the desert. How did no one see this? What is this for? Where did this come from? How long has it been there? What does it do? Why Africa?
Layla has reunited with Samantha after they are able to track down the van that took her from the weird psych place.
We know for sure now that Layla’s dad is an alien. How does that change things? Not much. He reunites with Layla and Samantha. He is intercepted by the aliens during a prisoner transfer and escapes. Sofia wants him to find Thomas as long as he finds his children (his demand).
When he finally reunites with them, he tells her his life story – He is from NGC253. Life wasn’t sustainable to they came here. They were found, hunted, put in prisons. Those that escaped made lives for themselves among the population. He wanted to protect Layla from people finding out that she’s half alien. Sweet. A super hot blonde half alien chick. But then he makes her chose – to go with Dad or stay with Shawn, because Sofia says so. What a b*tch.
Director Sperling meets with Maya, who I don’t really remember. Meanwhile, Thomas and his forces take over Camp Inostranka. Sperling is stuck right int he middle of it. They try to free all of the aliens. Thomas makes some grand speech to win them over but Maya decides to stay with him instead of going against. She says its not the time to go against him.
Sofia tells Shawn that if Thomas brings more people to Earth, it will be destroyed.
When Sperling is able to lock down the building, Thomas sends all of his troops against him. Eventually they capture them but unfortunately not until they found Sofia’s people, dead.
Layla is going to leave Shawn to go with her dad and Sofia. This is how they are going to write him off the show? What other role does he have in this story? She doesn’t want to leave him but he tells her if she has to, she should go. Then they have sex. Sweet.
Thomas escapes with the prisoners but leaves Sperling to die after he tries to escape and then kills Maya who ran to go get him.
Shawn leaves Layla overnight. She wakes up to him being gone. Why’d he leave? It cuts to him walking away. Why? This is stupid. He basically has no role left in the show. This makes no sense.
The old guy thats the head of a lot of this finds out that the kids were set free by Layla and Shawn. He says that they are going to cross paths again, soon.
I don’t like how they separated Layla and Shawn. They were a whole part of the show and now they are done. Ugh. I guess we will see. The preview looked awesome for the upcoming episodes, so thats a plus. What did you think?
